In Redbridge all YPF sites have been checked out by professionals and local young people to make sure they are:
All YPF sites in Redbridge offer FREE condoms to under 25 year olds. If you are embarrassed to ask for condoms or YPF you can pick up a free discretion card from youth centres, pharmacies and sometimes they are given out in school and at events. Show the card to the person working there and they will know what you are after without you even having to say a word! You don't need the card to access YPF - you can just ask.
YPF is completely confidential and you can walk in to any site displaying the YPF logo in the window. They won't tell anybody that you have used the service even if you are under 16.
You don't have to be having sex to access YPF - you might just be curious and want to try it out for yourself. It is better to know where to get free condoms and information before you really need it or it is too late!
The first time that you access YPF you will be given a bag with leaflets on other local sexual health services. Hang on to this so that you can always go back to it if you need more information in the future! Some YPF sites also offer chlamydia screening, EHC and contraception clinics.
In Redbridge all YPF sites were "Mystery Shopped" by local young people during the Easter Holiday. This means that they tested out the services for us and told us what they thought. We are now using thier feedback to make sure all sites are Young People Friendly. If you have used a YPF site and want to let us know what you thought (good or bad!) you can email us at: teenagepregnancystrategy@redbridge.gov.uk.
